1.Your statutory cancellation right
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days from purchase to cancel a contract made at distance and get a full refund, without giving a reason.
There is an exception for digital content, and it applies here. A course is supplied to you immediately. At checkout you are asked to agree to that immediate supply and to acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right once access begins. If you give that consent and then access the course, the statutory right ends.
If you bought a course and have not yet accessed any lesson, your 14-day right is intact — email us and we will refund you in full, no questions asked.
2.If the course is not as described
Separately, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not — a lesson does not work, promised material is missing, or what you received is materially different from what was advertised — you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and to a price reduction or refund if that cannot be done in a reasonable time.
These rights cannot be signed away, and nothing on this page limits them.
3.The do-the-work guarantee
This is our own promise, offered on top of your legal rights. It exists because the course only works if you actually do the outreach, and we are willing to stand behind that.
Complete every module and send 30 documented pitches within 60 days of purchase. If you have not landed a paid collaboration, we will coach you one-to-one until you do — or refund you in full, your choice.
To claim, email hello@thesocialspark.co.uk within 60 days of purchase with:
- the email address on your account;
- your pitch log — 30 pitches, each with the brand, the date and the channel you used (the Deal Tracker in your course dashboard produces this for you);
- a link to your portfolio as it stood when you pitched.
We check that every module is marked complete in your account, and we respond within 5 working days. We are not looking for reasons to say no — the log is there to confirm the work happened, not to catch you out.
4.How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method via Stripe, for the full £297 you paid. We process them within 5 working days of approving the claim; your bank may take a further 5–10 days to show it.
When a refund is issued your course access ends, and any bonus material you downloaded stops being licensed to you. Community and Club membership are free and are not affected.
5.What is not covered
We will not refund where:
- you accessed the course, consented to immediate access at checkout, and are outside the guarantee window — unless the content was faulty or not as described (section 2);
- you claim under the guarantee but the qualifying work was not done — in that case we will say what is missing and hold the window open for you to finish;
- you have shared, resold or republished the course material.
If we decline a claim we will tell you why, in writing, and what you can do next. You can always escalate to us at hello@thesocialspark.co.uk, and you retain the right to take a dispute to your card issuer or to the courts.
6.Free products and Club membership
The starter guide, a creator profile, the community and the brand briefs are free. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us, and you can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message.
These terms sit alongside our terms of service.
