Our story

It started with a camera and a win-win.

Social Creator Club grew out of a simple idea: creators shouldn’t have to be exploited to get started. Here’s how a new photographer’s portfolio turned into a community and marketplace built to give creators real opportunities.

How it started

Social Creator Club didn’t start as a company. It started with a camera.

I was a new photographer trying to practise my craft and grow a portfolio, and it began about as randomly as it could — a couple of people reached out and simply asked to model for me.

Around the same time, I kept meeting people who’d been burned. Fake talent agencies — the kind that promised a shortcut to a modelling career — had taken large sums of money off them in exchange for a poor portfolio and, in the end, no actual work. This was before UGC was really a thing.

It didn’t sit right with me. And it didn’t need to be that way. There was an obvious win-win hiding in plain sight: those same people could work with me instead. They’d walk away with real content, I’d get to practise and grow my craft, and we’d both come out ahead — nobody getting taken advantage of.

From a portfolio to real work

That portfolio opened doors I didn’t expect. I was fortunate to go on and shoot for some amazing brands — work that came directly from the images we’d made together.

And it meant I could turn back around and offer real, paid opportunities to the very people who’d helped me build the portfolio in the first place. The win-win kept paying forward.

The pivot — and Social Spark

Then the UGC boom arrived and changed everything. I made a big pivot in what I was doing and, fast-forward through a lot of learning, ended up founding and running Social Spark.

Why the Club exists

Social Creator Club is me trying to give people the same opportunity I had back then — but inside a community built to nurture improvement and creativity, not take advantage of it.

The difference now is that I’m lucky enough to be able to put real, paid work in front of members — through Social Spark and the connections we’ve made along the way.

The mission today

More than a job board.

It began as a marketplace to work — and we wanted to take it a step further, into a space for collaboration, learning, and community.

A marketplace to work

First and foremost, it’s a place to earn. We post real job ads for content the brands and businesses we work with need shooting — and creators get the chance to take them on and get paid.

Collaboration & creativity

A new photographer or videographer who wants to shoot something bold for their portfolio — or practise a technique they’ve just seen — can team up with a model or actor who wants to feature in it. And vice versa. Creativity for its own sake, not just the paycheck.

Knowledge, shared both ways

I want to pass on the years of learning and experience I’ve picked up along the way — and be part of a community that teaches me just as much straight back.

Events & meetups

Working from home — UGC life included — can get lonely. So we’re building creator events and meetups across London, and hopefully further across the UK.

Community, in real life

Creators, out from behind the camera.

So much creator work happens alone, at home. We think it’s better together — so we’re running meetups and events for members across London, and growing them out across the UK. A chance to collaborate, learn, and actually meet the people you’re building alongside.

Events are rolling out now — join the Club to be the first to hear about them.

Come and build something with us.

Whether you’re here for the paid briefs, the collaborations, the learning, or the community — there’s a place for you in the Club.
